VIDEO: In Protest, Man Climbs Speed Camera
A man staged a protest today by climbing onto one of the speed cameras installed on Arshakunyats Avenue, amidst ongoing legal proceedings involving the brother of Syunik Governor Hunan Poghosyan, according to Shantnews.am.
The man, identifying himself as a freight transporter, expressed his grievances against what he termed "corrupted courts." He voiced his opposition to a recent decision by the Court of Appeals that mandated him to pay $30,000.
In a bid to draw attention to his cause, the man declared that he would not come down from the pole, announcing a hunger strike and an impending water strike in two days.
Police arrived at the scene and spent a considerable amount of time persuading him to descend, but he refused to comply with their demands. Eventually, the officers were able to bring him down from the speed camera and took him to the police station.
