VIDEO: You Must Have Been a Pointer in Life to Point Fingers, Gevorg Petrosyan to Alen Simonyan
The National Assembly is not the platform for Eduard Marukyan's assessments to be expressed during entirely different agendas. This was stated today, June 24, by Gevorg Petrosyan, an MP from the Prosperous Armenia faction, during a conversation with journalists in the National Assembly, responding to the remarks made by the leader of the Bright Armenia faction, Eduard Marukyan, in a live broadcast on his Facebook page the day before and the reactions to it today.
In particular, while speaking about the need to increase the number of Russian flights to Gyumri, Marukyan referred to the head of Civil Aviation, Tatevik Revazyan, as a 'pretty girl' and called the government a 'brilliant government.' This sparked intense debates in the National Assembly.
"We are discussing a law, and suddenly we get up and start talking about Eduard Marukyan's statements. Each of us makes different statements throughout the day. If our everyday expressions are brought here to be voiced, are the people electing us to solve personal issues here?" Petrosyan remarked.
Referring to the statement of the Vice President of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, that if people here are sarcastic, they will be sarcastic enough not to seem less, Gevorg Petrosyan said that it is such a trivial manifestation for him that someone is pointing fingers. "Pointing fingers shouldn't come from there: you must have been a pointer in life to point fingers here. But there is no place for finger-pointing here, even if you have a past that allows you to do so," he added.
Again mentioning Eduard Marukyan's statement, Petrosyan said, "The biggest question in this country is whether Marukyan Eduard has said something regarding some alleged or real beauty. Is this our issue?" He added sarcastically, "Haven’t we forgotten that the economic revolution has knocked on our door, haven’t we forgotten that investors are queuing behind the door?"
Gevorg Petrosyan did not wish to comment on the content of Eduard Marukyan’s statement: "I respect Eduard Marukyan, but I am not his commentator."
