VIDEO. I Will Mock Everyone So No One Feels Left Out: Simonyan to LHK MPs
After Edmon Marukyan referred to the head of Civil Aviation Tatevik Revazyan as "that lovely girl," the exchanges in the National Assembly heated up, culminating in shouting and mockery within the session hall.
Chairman Alen Simonyan addressed the LHK lawmakers, reprimanding them for talking and shouting from their seats, which he described as unbecoming conduct for a member of parliament.
“What kind of way is that to speak? You’re talking here, coming in, discussing a climate of hatred. It starts here, when we mock, when we ridicule. I will mock everyone so no one feels left out,” he said.
Simonyan also referred to comments made by Prosperous Armenia MP Gevorg Petrosyan, who had stated, “I think a compliment from a man to a lovely girl isn’t as dangerous as a compliment from a man to a handsome man.”
“Gevorg Petrosyan comes here saying that it's better for a guy to compliment another guy... What kind of conversation is that? Was that the topic we were discussing?” Simonyan added.
He urged those in the hall not to speak out, warning that if they continued to act that way, their response would be tenfold stronger.
