Monthly Payments to the Tax Authority and Working Calmly: PEA Clarification on Tax Terror Publication

The State Revenue Committee (SRC) finds it necessary to clarify that the tax authority carries out administration against all economic entities that commit violations (including violations of cash register operation rules) through a risk management system, regardless of which group the taxpayer belongs to.

During the period from January to May 2019, violations of cash register operation rules were recorded in approximately 2600 cases involving various economic entities (including 305 cases in the second instance and 40 cases in the third instance), and the mentioned company is one of the penalized entities.

The newspaper "Zhamanak" attempts to shift the issue to another level without addressing the significant fact that the company failed to provide cash register receipts to citizens, seemingly encouraging the non-provision of cash register receipts through such articles.

Regarding the statement that "instead, should continue to operate according to the old rules of Armenia—make monthly payments to the tax authority and work calmly," we believe that spreading such information by the newspaper must have justifications; otherwise, it can at least be considered the dissemination of misinformation and slander.

At the same time, we urge the media to report any existing facts of this nature directly to law enforcement agencies.
