Putin's Visit to Armenia Will Discuss Import Tax on Vehicles
The newspaper "Patsat" reports that "As known, starting from January 1, 2020, the customs clearance price for vehicles imported into Armenia from third countries will increase several times, which has naturally caused concern among the public, and a significant increase in the process of private vehicle imports has begun. We have addressed this topic multiple times, presenting the views of industry experts as well.
It is clear that at such a pace, the revenues to the state budget will significantly increase, which is a good opportunity to present all of this as a result of effective work. It is also clear that this is of a temporary nature, especially since information is already circulating that in reality, the customs duty on vehicles may not increase, or may only increase slightly.
It is possible that one of the primary issues to be discussed during Russian President Vladimir Putin’s planned visit in October will be the urgent regulation of this issue. It is evident that this would serve the interests of the public, if, of course, success can be achieved in this regard."
