Murders in Armavir Province
Recent murders have occurred in Armavir Province. The Vagharsapat division of the police received a report that there are two bodies in one of the houses in the village of Aratashen.
According to Shamshyan.com, an operational group from the Vagharsapat division, led by division chief Seyran Martirosyan, arrived promptly at the scene. Also present were the operational group from the Armavir regional police department, headed by the acting regional police chief, Samvel Khmelian.
The police discovered the bodies in the living room and yard of one of the village's houses. The body of 61-year-old Gemma Martirosyan was found in the yard, while her brother, 70-year-old Sargis Martirosyan's body was located in the living room.
A photojournalist reports that while the forensic expert was examining the bodies at the scene, Armavir police and investigators, following operational data about the murders, detained 63-year-old Zhora Hakobyan, a resident of the same village, on suspicion of committing the murders.
The police also found several fired cartridges and a blood-stained “club,” which were confiscated by the investigator's order.
