Severe Floods in Ankara, Casualties Reported
Severe flooding has occurred in Turkey's Ankara province due to heavy rainfall. The Ankara provincial governor's office reports that there are currently three fatalities resulting from the floods, one of whom is a woman. Dozens of vehicles have been submerged, and several streets have been closed.
The most significant rainfall has been recorded in the Çankaya and Etimesgut districts. In response, the Turkish government's Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) and the Ankara municipality have mobilized rescue teams and a large amount of equipment.
Newly elected Ankara Mayor Mansur Yavaş has issued a statement regarding the situation, attributing the spread of the flooding to infrastructural issues in Ankara. The floods have also caused damage to several buildings.
