Minister Arsen Torosyan Will Not Apologize to Ara Minasian

The judge of the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction, Sargis Yeritsyan, ruled on June 7 that Health Minister Arsen Torosyan is obliged to publicly apologize to Ara Minasian, the director of the 'Saint Gregory the Illuminator Medical Center' and a relative of Serzh Sargsyan, through a live broadcast on Facebook. Armdaily.am inquired with the spokesperson for the Minister of Health, Alina Nikoghosyan, whether the minister would comply with the court's demand or appeal it. She responded that at this time, she cannot comment, but a press conference will likely be held on Monday to address all questions.

Torosyan's lawyer, Gevorg Gyozalyan, stated that they will definitely appeal the decision: 'We consider this decision to be more than unfounded. Mr. Torosyan will not apologize. We will appeal the decision, and it is also possible that we will raise questions regarding the competence of this judge. I have reviewed the ruling and am quite puzzled, to be honest, because I find such a ruling legally rather weak.'
