Car Accident on Isakov Avenue: 'Opel' Crashes into Gas Pipeline
The Emergency Situations Ministry’s '911' service received a call on June 9 at 18:33, reporting a traffic accident on Isakov Avenue near the Police Academy in Yerevan. A car had crashed into a gas pipeline, causing a leak, and assistance from rescuers was necessary, according to the Emergency Situations Ministry's press service.
A firefighting and rescue unit from the Emergency Situations Ministry was dispatched to the scene. It was discovered that an 'Opel Vectra' vehicle (driver G.B., born in 1969) had veered off the roadway and collided with the gas pipeline. The pipeline was damaged, leading to a leak.
Rescuers cordoned off the area, closed the valve on the gas pipeline, and disconnected the vehicle's power. There were no injuries reported.
