Mikouchyan: So Far, Only a Unique Number of Alerts Have Been Received
Tigran Mikouchyan, the President of the Central Electoral Commission, is also in Abovyan. He stated that the work began normally at 7:00 AM and subsequently decided to visit the polling station electoral commissions to familiarize himself with the situation, according to Shantnews.am.
“When the attendance figures were received at 14:00, I decided to make a tour, to be present at the polling centers, listen to the opinions of the electoral commissions; I have visited about 5 polling stations in Abovyan and intend to visit others,” Mikouchyan said.
Regarding violations, he stated: “Any record or report of violations is received by the CEC from the members of the electoral commissions, authorized persons, observers, and all publications from the media. We are trying to verify and clarify all circumstances, and actions are being taken in line with the law. The commissions are authorized to make records of violations in the registers of the electoral commissions; until the summary of the election results, we have a period during which evaluations will be made.”
He also added that no remarks have been made to him by anyone during his visits to the polling stations and assured that he would meet with officials at the other stations as well to hear their observations.
“The process is positive; so far, only a unique number of alerts have been received, which have been verified, and appropriate instructions have been given. Work is proceeding normally at this time,” he added.
