Are There 'Influencers' Accumulations? Kotayk Governor Tours Polling Stations

Kotayk Governor Romanos Petrosyan began touring various polling stations in Abovyan city as soon as they opened, to ascertain whether there were any accumulations of 'influencers' and to check if the police were conducting their duties properly. We encountered Petrosyan near polling station 29/02. He approached the police officers to confirm whether everything was normal and left without entering the polling station.

Petrosyan also mentioned that he had received two reports this morning regarding voters photographing their ballots, and he had instructed that action be taken at those polling stations, since photographing a ballot is a criminal offense. In response to why individuals are photographing their ballots, Petrosyan noted, “They take pictures to prove to their associates that they have voted for their desired candidate.”

To the question posed by the correspondent of “First News” about whether these visits could be considered a form of pressure on the elections, the governor answered negatively, stating that he merely lives in the area and is trying to understand if the situation is manageable. Petrosyan also commented on an incident from yesterday, stating that a full investigation is underway, and for now, he will refrain from naming any individuals. He reiterated that these elections are a struggle between the old and the new, and the new will undoubtedly prevail.
