Pashinyan's Russian and Zakharova's Post: Why Does the Armenian Prime Minister Persistently Speak Russian on International Platforms?
'Hraparak' newspaper reports: 'At the Saint Petersburg conference, the long-awaited meeting between Nikol Pashinyan and Vladimir Putin finally took place, during which the Russian president said: “I am very glad to welcome you again. I have no doubt that it will be interesting for you, and I hope also useful, to participate in the discussions... I do not see the need to characterize our bilateral relations—we do this regularly; we recently met with you, discussed many issues, and had the opportunity to talk about everything.”
And despite the Russian president's warm and respectful tone, the Russian Foreign Ministry's representative, Maria Zakharova, was mocking Nikol Pashinyan's Russian during this time on her Facebook page. It remains unclear why the Armenian Prime Minister persistently speaks Russian at international platforms.'
