Who Said We Only Have One "Iskander"? Pashinyan
The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, and the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, discussed issues of future cooperation in the military sector during their meeting on June 6. This was stated by Pashinyan at a press conference following the 23rd plenary session of the International Economic Forum in St. Petersburg, Russia, on June 7, in response to a journalist's inquiry regarding the interview where he mentioned that the issue of purchasing "Iskanders" from Russia was not discussed.
The journalist asked me if I had a desire to buy a second "Iskander." I replied, who said that we only have one "Iskander" and need a second? I stated that we have enough "Iskanders" and that we are discussing other matters. We discussed the possibilities for further cooperation in that area. Of course, Russia is a strategic partner for Armenia, including in terms of ensuring security. Our countries are members of the CSTO, and we have a lot to discuss in the field of security,” Pashinyan noted.
