New Manipulation Mechanism: The State Revenue Committee Raises Alarm

The State Revenue Committee reports that it has recently noticed a potential new manipulation mechanism. Citizens, hiding the purchase documents from auctions, present an invoice issued by an intermediary organization to customs authorities, where the price of the product significantly differs from the selling price at the auction of the respective vehicle.

“Today, the case presented by citizen Ara Khachatryan is among a series of similar suspicious transactions. The State Revenue Committee, through a special program, has identified the vehicle indicated by him, which was sold for $45,000 at an American auction just days before the invoice issued by the intermediary organization was created. Regarding the corruption schemes raised by A. Khachatryan, it should be noted that Senior Customs Inspector Narek Gevorgyan stands out for his high professionalism and actively participates in the detection of this mechanism,” the statement reads.

The State Revenue Committee assures that no manifestation of corruption can take place in our country and urges citizens and entrepreneurs to report to the relevant authorities when noticing any signs of corruption.

It is reminded that customs authorities have adopted a methodology for simplifying processes while ensuring the economic security of the Republic of Armenia through their assigned functions,” the message states.
