‘Haykakan Jamanak’: Assistant of ‘My Step’ MP Puts on a Show
'Haykakan Jamanak' reports that Narек Zeynalyan, a member of the 'My Step' faction and head of the Health and Social Affairs Committee in the National Assembly, has decided that his assistant is on par with deputies, and has repeatedly sent his assistant on business trips instead of himself.
Months ago, we wrote that this assistant had traveled to Dushanbe with committee member Hrach Hakobyan. The deputy admitted that he had prioritized this arrangement. From May 25-30, the same assistant traveled to China with Narек Zeynalyan, as well as deputies Lusine Badalyan and Hrachya Hakobyan to participate in the International Forum on Medical Innovations and Cooperation.
We found out that the invitation was made for four people, with all expenses covered by the Armenian side.
However, even during the previous administration, such practices were not common—assistants did not go on business trips, only deputies, experts, or staff representatives participated. But that is not all; upon returning, the assistant showcased a scene in front of the committee's experts, lamenting that deputies received a per diem from the National Assembly leadership of approximately 200,000 drams, but his name was not on that list.
When the uproar spread, Narек Zeynalyan reprimanded his assistant, explaining that he did not even have the right to travel, let alone receive a per diem.
