Today, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Alen Simonyan stated in an interview with Aravot.am: “I am coming up with an interesting legislative initiative that will directly relate to the media, so get ready.”

When asked by the outlet to provide a little more insight, he replied: “It is aimed at reducing an atmosphere of hatred and evil.” When jokingly asked if this was some kind of intriguing announcement and if he was definitely going to shut down the media, Alen Simonyan responded: “No, there is always a serious point in every joke, but we shouldn’t even make such jokes.”
