On June 4, in accordance with an agreement made with the authorities of Artsakh, the OSCE mission will conduct a planned observation of the ceasefire regime along the contact line between the Armenian and Azerbaijani armed forces, in the area southeast of Martuni, Artsakh.
The observation will be carried out by the field assistant to the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Mihail Olariu (Moldova), and Martin Schuster (Germany) from the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office's office. On the Azerbaijani side of the contact line, the observation will be conducted by the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office's personal representative, Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk, his field assistant Ognjen Jovic (Bosnia and Herzegovina), and personal assistant Simon Tiller (United Kingdom).
The authorities of Artsakh have expressed their readiness to assist in the conduct of the observation and ensure the safety of the OSCE mission members.
It is noteworthy that just days ago, an Armenian soldier from the Defense Army was killed as a result of fire from the Azerbaijani side, targeting positions near Martuni.
