Artsakh National Team Wins Opening Match Against Sapmi
The football match between Artsakh and Sapmi has concluded at the Stepan Shahumyan Republican Stadium in Stepanakert, with a score of 3-2 in favor of Artsakh.
Artsakh's head coach, Slava Gabrielian, expressed his satisfaction with the match result, stating, “The team played reliable defense and organized interesting attacks. A random goal during the match created tension, but it did not prevent our team from winning.”
He added, “Thank you to the boys for holding on until the end. We earned our first crucial 3 points. We always tell our boys that the first and last matches are finals for us. Step by step, we will try to approach victory.”
Norik Mkrtchyan, the number 20 player for Artsakh who scored the first goal, mentioned that the opening goal in the first minute of the game was unexpected yet motivating. “It was a difficult game, but we continue to move forward until victory. I hope the strongest teams will make it to the final, and the audience will have the opportunity to enjoy a true football celebration. I congratulate and wish good luck to all teams,” he added.
The Artsakh-Sapmi football match was attended by members of the Artsakh National Assembly, including President Ashot Ghulyan and State Minister Grigor Martirosyan, as well as guests and others.
