A Stadium Named After Hamlet Mkhitaryan, Father of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Has Been Opened

Samvel Farmanyan made a post on his Facebook page announcing that today a community football stadium has been opened in the Spandaryan community of Shirak Province, named after Hamlet Mkhitaryan, the father of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, the captain of the Armenian national team and a striker for the Ararat football team.

“My daughter Naren and the leading figure in Armenian football, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, today inaugurated the community football stadium built in my birthplace, on my initiative. It is named after Hamlet Mkhitaryan, the legendary striker of the ‘Ararat’ from the 1980s and Henrikh's father. It was wonderful,” wrote S. Farmanyan.
