Light-effect fountains and playgrounds in the heart of Yerevan. The park adjacent to the "Malibu" café was opened today.

6500 sq. m of green space, a unique composition of light-effect fountains, modern children's playgrounds, and walking areas were officially inaugurated today, July 1, during a festive ceremony at the interim section of the capital's main thoroughfare between Saryan Street and Mashtots Boulevard, adjacent to the "Malibu" café. This park was a gift from the "Tashir" group of companies to the children of Yerevan.

Among the attendees were Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan, Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyun, members of the Yerevan City Council, First Vice President of the "Tashir" group of companies Narek Karapetyan, as well as city residents and guests.

After touring the park, Hayk Marutyun remarked that it was not his first visit and that the collaboration for the benefit of Yerevan would continue. "This is a great example of state-private partnership, and this is just the beginning; there is still a lot of work ahead," he stated.

The mayor promised that ultimately, Yerevan residents would have the opportunity to reach the children's railway from Khangjian Street through the parks.

Narek Karapetyan expressed his pleasure, mentioning that the park is designed for children and to spend time with them. He stated that classical music will also be played in the park but emphasized that the music will only be on until 11 PM to avoid disturbing the residents of Yerevan.

He also added that the underground passage would be reconstructed as well. Karapetyan highlighted that a decision had been made to continue the investment program with the reconstruction of the underground passage, mentioning, "The level of passage currently present could not coexist with the level in the park. The park dictated that the investment program continue and the underground passage also be reconstructed." He assured that they would consider interesting designs to make the underground passage pleasant for visitors in the winter.

During the grand opening ceremony, guests were treated to a rich entertainment program. Children’s creative groups performed from the main stage of the park, and a children’s bicycle race was organized at the playground. The event concluded with a festive concert featuring stars of the Armenian pop scene and a fireworks display.

The total area of the "New Yerevan" complex, which occupies 20,000 sq. m, has been landscaped. Approximately ten thousand saplings, including trees, shrubs, flowers, and various types of plants, have been planted in the park. The entire area is equipped with cameras and modern lighting solutions. The main emphasis of the park’s beautification is the ensemble of three-dimensional projected fountains, which creates images and holds water-light shows accompanied by music. Uniquely, these fountains consist of 600 water jets that shoot up to 90 meters high, offering the potential for complex technical shows and tricks. Furthermore, for the comfort of visitors, public dining points, including a café and a restaurant, have been opened on the premises.

The renovation works of the new relaxation area in the Saryan-Mashtots section began in 2015. The project’s initiator and sponsor is the "Tashir" charitable foundation, founded by Samvel Karapetyan. The total cost of the project was approximately $15 million.
