Arayik Harutyunyan's Associate is Persecuting People: V. Avagyan

The spokesperson for the ‘Sasna Tsrer’ party, Vahagn Avagyan, wrote on his Facebook page: “As you know, a few days ago I addressed the rector of the ‘Mesrop Mashtots’ University in Artsakh, who once again invited agents of the Russian empire, Kolerov and Tarasov, to the university, insisting that ‘Artsakh is more democratic than Armenia and that Artsakh should not unite with Armenia.’

Under that post, the lady rector reacted by insulting me, claiming that her words were taken out of context, and that the person who recorded the video would face serious problems. I demanded that she present the full video, which surely exists, and we would assess the truthfulness of her statements, but she did not respond.

Recently, I have been receiving alarming news that the lady rector has begun to turn her threats into reality and is persecuting university staff, the young man who recorded and posted the video, and his wife, who are respected professors at that university.

According to reports, Arayik Harutyunyan’s associate, who stands out for numerous criminal incidents (for instance, firing a gun on the Yerevan-Sevan highway yesterday), is, in essence, persecuting people for posting her so-called public statements on the internet, as well as for the young professor’s publications regarding Arayik Harutyunyan’s criminal activities on the arcakh24 page.

We will keep a close eye on the events unfolding and will respond accordingly to the situation. I believe that the political trajectory of educational institutions following the revolution in Armenia provides grounds for dismantling such universities and turning them back into baths.”
