Alen Simonian's Wife Has Not Submitted a Declaration Yet: 'Fact-Checking Platform'

The 'Fact-Checking Platform' writes: 'Since May 2018, Alen Simonian has been a member of the National Assembly. He submitted a declaration to the Ethics Commission for High-Ranking Officials on June 15, 2018, detailing the property, income and related persons as of the date he assumed office as an MP (May 16, 2018). The information included raises several questions.

Absence of Wife's Declaration

Among related persons, the MP has mentioned his two minor children and his wife, Mariam Margaryan.

However, she has not yet submitted a declaration to the Ethics Commission, which calls into question the completeness of the data presented in the MP’s property declaration.

It is noteworthy that Mariam Margaryan, due to her husband's new position (since January 14, 2019, Alen Simonian has been the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly), was required to submit an annual declaration by March 31 of this year.

However, the deadline for submitting annual declarations was extended to May 31.

Interestingly, family members of other MPs have submitted their annual declarations long ago. For example, even the minor children of the Deputy Speaker, Vahe Enfiadjian, from the Prosperous Armenia Party, have submitted their declarations. It should be noted that failing to submit a declaration constitutes an administrative offense according to Article 169.28 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. After two warnings, the case must be forwarded to the prosecutor's office.'
