I Have Never Owned Any Property in My Mother-in-Law's Name: Lendrush Hovanissyan
If the vetting were to happen tomorrow at 9 AM, I would be ready. This was stated today by Lendrush Hovanissyan, a judge at the court of general jurisdiction in Shirak province, while addressing the changes in the judicial system.
According to him, there is a need for change in all systems, and he hopes that the changes being implemented will lead to positive outcomes. When asked if he recognizes judges who work on commissions, Hovanissyan responded that he has no such information.
“I have declared 3 million drams and 3 thousand dollars. There are no dark spots. My annual salary has been approximately 6 million drams, which I have accumulated solely through my salary. I have never owned any property in my mother-in-law’s name. I work in Shirak province, serving the communities of Ani and Artik with all their villages. You can go to the court database and see who has had cases specifically in the Maralik court. Ask about your impression from dealing with Judge Lendrush Hovanissyan, or if you have ever managed to have a one-sided meeting or communication outside of the courtroom,” said the judge, asserting that he has not received any calls from either the previous or current authorities.
Addressing the question of why society does not accept the current judges, he stated that there has been no adequate response to the misplaced criticisms.
“When you search for Lendrush Hovanissyan, all links lead to me, the son of retired judge Hrachya Hovanissyan, who previously worked in the Malatia-Sebastia administrative district. Let me clarify, my father was not a judge, and at the time I was appointed judge, my father was employed as a driver in the municipality of Armavir,” Hovanissyan recounted.
