Drivers Without Russian Citizenship Will Not Be Able to Operate Taxis in Russia
Foreign companies engaged in taxi services will not be able to operate in Russian territory, as stated by the head of the Russian State Duma’s Transport and Construction Committee, Yevgeny Moskvichev.
According to РИА Новости, the relevant amendments were made ahead of the second reading of the bill regarding taxi aggregators.
“We will also firmly enshrine in the law that there will be no foreign drivers for taxis. A person without Russian citizenship will not have the right to work as a taxi driver in the Russian territory,” Moskvichev said.
Taxi drivers will also be prohibited from using vehicles that have exceeded seven years of passenger use. The new law will come into effect this year.
