Considering the Issue of Distrust Towards the Judicial Authority: Sanasaryan

Davit Sanasaryan, whose authority as the head of the Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition has been temporarily suspended, wrote on his Facebook page:

"Considering the issue of distrust raised by Prime Minister Pashinyan regarding the judicial authority in recent days, as well as my coinciding political stance, we have decided:

not to appeal the Prosecutor's Office's decision to reject the motion to terminate the illegal criminal prosecution against me in the courts of the Republic of Armenia.

I am confident that until the crisis in the justice sector receives its logical resolution, namely, until the measures mentioned by the Prime Minister are properly implemented, and we do not have a legitimate court that enjoys the trust of society and can restore the violated rights of individuals, it cannot serve as a body for restoring such rights."

It is noteworthy that on April 18, 2019, Davit Sanasaryan was charged under the first part of Article 308 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.
