VIDEO: 80 Million Dram Damage to the State - Police Disclosure
The Police's Anti-Corruption and Economic Crimes Prevention Department, in collaboration with the Syunik Regional Department and the Kapan Police Division, has uncovered that a road construction company illegally extracted a gravel-sand mixture from the banks of the Voghji River adjacent to Kapan, in violation of subsurface resource usage regulations back in April 2019.
It was also revealed that from 2009 to 2019, water resources were illegally utilized in the area adjacent to the company.
As a result of the negligent and deficient performance of duties by responsible officials, preliminary estimates indicate that the state suffered damage amounting to around 80 million drams.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident, and it has been forwarded to the Syunik Regional Investigative Department for further inquiry.
