The Supreme Judicial Council's Meeting Scheduled for Today Will Not Take Place
The Supreme Judicial Council's meeting scheduled for today will not take place. This was announced today, on May 20, by Arman Khachatryan, the head of the Public Relations and Protocol Department of the Ministry of Justice.
It is noteworthy that last night, the Supreme Judicial Council had called for a meeting to discuss the situation surrounding the courts.
The Council had stated that a comprehensive position regarding the created situation would be expressed after a consultation with the Prime Minister in the meeting to be called afterwards.
“Considering the disruption of the normal functioning of the courts as unacceptable, the Council simultaneously calls on judges and all staff of the judiciary to display extreme restraint and to remain exclusively within the legal framework,” said the text of the Council's statement issued yesterday.
