Pashinyan Holds Phone Conversation with Catholicos Aram I
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has announced that he just had a phone conversation with Aram I, the Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia. Pashinyan shared this information on his Facebook page.
He specifically mentioned, “I presented to him the ongoing processes in Armenia, noting that there are efforts to strengthen the people's power, particularly aimed at establishing an independent and impartial judiciary. I will discuss the essence and content of these processes shortly in my upcoming speech.”
It is noteworthy that yesterday, Pashinyan called for all entrances and exits of educational institutions to be closed from 8:30 AM today. He also announced that he would deliver a live address at 12:00 PM about the current state of the judiciary and the establishment of people's power in this domain.
The Prime Minister's call has been characterized by several civil society organizations as an attempt to undermine constitutional order. Various political parties, including the Republican Party of Armenia and the Armenian Revolutionary Federation, have issued statements regarding the situation.
