Mr. Pashinyan, You Are Being Misinformed, Lawyer Says
You are being misinformed by those reporting to you. Take the claims of your informants with a grain of salt; otherwise, you may find yourself in a situation where you are unable to manage the circumstances. This was stated by lawyer Yervand Varosyan in a Facebook post, responding to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's assertion that investigative bodies are often operating under the presumption that the judiciary will ultimately dismiss all revelations.
In his speech today, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan also stated, “The effectiveness of the investigative bodies is suffering because they often work under the presumption that the judicial system will dismiss all revelations due to its organic ties with the same corrupt system.”
“Dear Mr. Pashinyan, who has misled you into this misconception? Please publish the names of the heads of the investigative bodies that have provided you with this information so we can expose the hollowness of their claims. You are simply being deceived,” the lawyer emphasized.
The Armenian judicial system has historically been a mechanism blindly adhering to the directives of investigative bodies and the prosecution. This has been the reason why the situation in the country has gradually become intolerable, and the quality of work from investigative bodies has constantly shown a trend of decline.
Since May 2018, the judicial system has made sporadic attempts to transform from a submissive body into an independent court, thanks to the efforts of a few judges who respect their position. However, the courts have continued to process poor and unfounded materials presented by the investigative bodies. This has fostered hope that elements of independence are emerging within the judicial system, which would lead to higher quality and more substantiated work from investigative bodies, thus allowing heavily burdened investigative entities to ultimately begin focusing on revealing and substantiating crimes, leaving behind their time-consuming, unclear, and empty procedures, and thereby elevating the quality of their work.
However, alas, there are leaders within the investigative bodies who attempt to justify their failures before you with various explanations due to their unprofessional work and have convinced you that the problem lies with the judicial system not consuming the “borscht” they served.
Mr. Pashinyan, you are being misinformed about the situation; please do not accept the claims of those who are misleading you. Otherwise, you may face a scenario where you cannot manage the situation,” the lawyer concluded in his post.
