BHK Calls on Pashinyan to Cancel Previous Appeal During Live Broadcast

The Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) urges to refrain from any unconstitutional actions. This was stated in a declaration issued by the party.

The political council of the party has stated that "Prosperous Armenia," being in favor of maintaining legality and constitutional order in our country, is prepared to discuss the genuinely serious issues present in the judicial system within the framework of the law and to find joint legal solutions. It calls for the abstention from all types of unconstitutional actions and measures that would directly strike at our statehood and the international reputation of the Republic of Armenia, jeopardizing the development of the economy, the protection of human rights in our country, and the implementation of pre-announced reforms.

"We urge the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, not to proceed with his previous call during the live broadcast scheduled for 12:00 today and to avoid obstructing the normal functioning of the courts, jeopardizing the country’s international reputation, and dividing society. Instead, let us strive to address the deeply rooted issues in the judicial and legal system in an atmosphere of tolerance and mutual understanding," the statement reads.

It is noteworthy that on May 19, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that as of 08:30 on May 20, all entrances and exits of the courts across the republic should be blocked, so that no one could enter.

The Prime Minister will make a statement via live broadcast from the government today at 12:00.
