Araik Harutyunyan to Participate in the 2020 Presidential Elections in Artsakh

On May 18, in the sports field of the Ishkhanadzor community of the Kashatagh region, a meeting was held with Araik Harutyunyan, the president of the "Free Fatherland" party, involving the party's activists and supporters from the southern sector of the region.

During the meeting, Araik Harutyunyan delivered a programmatic speech, presenting the new agenda of the "Free Fatherland" party, upcoming projects, and plans, as well as expressing a clear stance on the party's participation in the forthcoming nationwide elections and his vision regarding the current political situation.

Artush Mkrtchyan, the responsible figure of the "Free Fatherland" party in the Kashatagh region, stated during his speech that at a party conference held at the Berdzor territorial office, issues were discussed, including the nomination of a new president for the party at its upcoming congress, and accordingly, the issue of nominating a candidate for the 2020 presidential elections in Artsakh was addressed. Conference members unanimously decided to nominate the current president of the "Free Fatherland" party, Araik Harutyunyan.

Harutyunyan expressed his gratitude for the trust shown in him and agreed to the nomination offer. He noted that the date of the meeting was not chosen randomly, as it marks the day of his cherished dream, which was the reunification of Artsakh with Mother Armenia on May 18, 1992.

"I started my series of meetings from Ishkhanadzor because this community has been one of the most developing villages in recent years. Here, I am responding to the Madrid principles, the Kazan agreement, and other questions related to the negotiation process. We have a homeland enshrined in the Constitution, and we are obliged to gradually reach our ultimate goal. I am taking an oath here because my comrades-in-arms, supporters, compatriots, and my family are here, and I realize the responsibility I must assume after receiving your trust. Having been the Prime Minister of Artsakh for ten years and the State Minister for almost a year, I understand the scale of the unresolved issues in Artsakh and the ways to resolve them," added Harutyunyan.
