The Date for the Court's Decision in Kocharyan's Case is Known
The judge of the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction, David Grigoryan, has just left the consultation room to make a decision regarding the preventive measure for the second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan. The decision will be published on May 18 at 16:00.
Kocharyan's lawyers and he himself expressed dissatisfaction that the judge did not allow them to present their position after the remarks made by the Prosecutor General.
It should be noted that today's court session lasted longer than usual, about 10 hours.
During this time, Kocharyan's lawyers presented a request for his release from detention, which was followed by Robert Kocharyan's extensive speech regarding the charges against him. In the second half of the day, the proper conduct of the second president in freedom was guaranteed by the former President of Artsakh, Arkadi Ghukasyan, and the current President, Bako Sahakyan. The court introduced them to the content of the charges brought against Kocharyan, the rights and obligations of the guarantor, and warned about the responsibility of the guarantor, after which both presidents confirmed their request. The prosecutorial side then presented their stance again. The Prosecutor General also delivered a speech.
