Mikhran Poghosyan to be Extradited According to 'Zhoghovurd'
'Zhoghovurd' newspaper reports: 'As is known, the former head of the Special Investigation Service, now a defendant in a criminal case, Mikhran Poghosyan, who had been declared wanted, was discovered in Russia and arrested. Poghosyan has requested political asylum from the Russian authorities.
However, according to information received by 'Zhoghovurd', Armenian law enforcement officials have verbally communicated that he is likely to be extradited.
The matter is that upon reviewing the request from Armenia’s law enforcement agencies, the Russian authorities noted that he is not subject to political persecution, but rather a legal process is underway.
Meanwhile, as per our information, in recent days, the Special Investigative Service has summoned former deputies of Mikhran Poghosyan, employees of the Special Investigation Service, and has been asking them specific questions regarding the origins and purposes of the funds spent in the organization.'
