Car Rolls Down the Slope Near Geghard Monastery Access Road

On May 16, at 08:07, the 911 service received information regarding an incident on the access road to the Geghard Monastery in Kotayk Province, near the "Geghard Lion" monument. An "Opel Astra G" vehicle went off the roadway and rolled down the slope, resulting in injuries that required rescue assistance.

A rescue team from the Ministry of Emergency Situations has been dispatched to the scene.

It was determined that the "Opel Astra G" vehicle, driven by S.S. (born 1953), went off the main road and fell about 30 meters down.

Before the arrival of the rescuers, the driver and passengers, T.G. (born 1962) and T.K. (born 1952), both citizens of the Russian Federation, were hospitalized at the Garni Medical Center, where doctors assessed their condition as satisfactory.

The rescuers have cut off the vehicle's power and closed the gas cylinder valve.
