Car Accident on Sevan Road. Driver Flees the Scene

On the 65th kilometer of the Yerevan-Sevan-Ijevan highway in the Gegharkunik province, a collision occurred around 20:25 involving a Hyundai and a VAZ 2107. This was reported by Shamshyan.com.

A resident of the Davitashen administrative district of Yerevan, identified as A. B., driving a Hyundai with license plate 34 TP 750, crashed into a VAZ 2107, license plate 36 AS 326, driven by 37-year-old E. S. from the village of Tsovagyugh in Gegharkunik province.

According to the source, the Hyundai driver fled the scene, leaving the VAZ driver in need of assistance. Road police arrived at the site of the accident. Highway officers managed to locate the Hyundai and its driver in the peninsula. The driver was subjected to a sobriety test, which revealed that he was under the influence of alcohol. He did not possess a driving license and only had a social security card and the vehicle's technical passport on him. It turned out that the Hyundai was being operated as a taxi. The police are currently working to ascertain the driver's complete identity.
