Dear compatriots: Hovik Abrahamyan's statement
Former Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan wrote on his Facebook page:
“Dear compatriots,
I sincerely congratulate all of us on the occasion of International Family Day, which we have legally established in Armenia since 2011 and celebrate as Family Day: The family is a supreme value, the foundation and guarantor of a healthy society and a strong state. A happy family is one that, alongside the preservation of national traditions and identity, embodies equality, mutual respect, and understanding.
Regardless of the degree of development of social relations, the main prerequisite for the strength of a family is respect and compromise; the ability to remain silent and listen during heated arguments, the courage to overcome difficulties together, and the joy of enjoying happy moments together.
Challenges are temporary and fleeting; what matters is the ability to overcome them with dignity. Even seemingly unsolvable situations can be easily navigated when one has the love of family and the support of loved ones behind them. That is a power against which no storm can prevail.
Unfortunately, today we also see overt propaganda of phenomena that contradict our collective perceptions and negatively affect the establishment of the most important unit of society - the family. For small nations, this poses issues with serious consequences. Our country today faces a demographic challenge, and the most effective means to overcome it, in my deep conviction, is to glorify the idea of a strong and complete family.
I wish love and harmony to your families, peace to Armenia and Artsakh. May God protect us all.”
