Cable Car and Metro Stations to Be Built Thanks to Mall and Hotel Construction
In Ajapnyak, the developer of the metro station will be allowed to build a large mall near Tumo, meaning on the metropolitan line, and the metro connection will be through the first floor of the mall.
Today, details about the new metro station to be built in Yerevan were presented by the chief architect Arthur Meshchyan.
The same approach will apply to the cable car, which will go from the 2nd district of Nor Nork to the Center, around Abovyan Park. “We will allow the construction of another mall in the Nor Nork area, and the developer of that mall must build the upper station. In the lower area, a hotel complex should be designed, and the developer of that hotel must fund the lower station of the cable car,” said Meshchyan.
According to Meshchyan, an area was previously allocated to St. Petersburg by government decision adjacent to Abovyan Park. The latter has provided or will provide some area to the Republic of Armenia. The chief architect noted that representatives from St. Petersburg will arrive soon to discuss issues related to the hotel and cable car. He expressed hope that next year construction work will begin not only on the metro station but also on the cable car.
