Aram I to Meet with Bashar al-Assad

The Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia, Aram I, has traveled to Damascus on a pastoral visit. He was welcomed by the leader of the Armenian Diocese of Berytus, representatives of the National Central Administration, the 'A. Aharonyan' center, and members of the Syrian parliament, Nora Arisian and Jirayr Raisian.

According to the 'Gandzasar' weekly newspaper published in Aleppo, representatives of the Armenian community of Damascus also attended the welcoming ceremony for Catholicos Aram I.

It has been reported that today the Catholicos will have a meeting with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
