The Charges Against My Father Are Personal Vendetta, Says Levon Kocharyan
“What the defenders say, what my father says, we all agree on that; we see it, and there have been numerous facts that have proven all of this,” said Levon Kocharyan, the son of former Armenian President Robert Kocharyan, during a conversation with journalists in the courtroom today, asserting that the charges brought against Robert Kocharyan are specifically a personal vendetta.
When asked what evidence he was referring to, Levon Kocharyan responded that the most glaring example is the phone conversation between the head of the NSS and the head of the Special Investigation Service, in which one says, “Whether you want it or not, you have to detain him.”
Speaking about the events of 2008, Levon Kocharyan emphasized that it is crucial to first understand who organized those murders and hold them accountable for everything that has transpired. The son of Robert Kocharyan expressed hopes that the illegal pre-trial measure currently applied will be rescinded.
