Balasanyan's Statement Poses Risk to Our Security System: Andranik Kocharyan
Vitaly Balasanyan, in his capacity as Secretary of the Security Council, should refrain from making statements that could undermine our security, said Andranik Kocharyan, Chairman of the National Assembly’s Permanent Commission on Defense and Security, during a briefing at the National Assembly, responding to Balasanyan's statement that it would be better if the appeal of the Presidents of the Republic of Artsakh to release Kocharian were respected.
Kocharyan stated that the Artsakh public has a positive attitude towards the Armenian authorities, and it is possible that some forces may attempt to use Artsakh as a platform to fight against the Armenian government; however, he noted that such trends do not exist. “If such trends were to emerge, the Artsakh government would crush them in their infancy,” Kocharyan stated, adding that those forces that try to gain political dividends instead of facing their failures will not succeed.
