30-Year-Old Woman Murdered with Extreme Brutality Was Pregnant: New Details

The Investigative Committee of Armenia’s Ararat region continues to actively carry out investigative actions to clarify all circumstances surrounding the murder of a 30-year-old woman. Based on the combination of evidence collected in the criminal case, charges have been filed against a 26-year-old man. This information has been provided by the Investigative Committee of Armenia.

As previously reported, on the evening of May 8, 2019, a 26-year-old resident of the Armavir region attacked the woman with a rubber hose, a wooden stick, and other objects in a field near the village of Ayntap. She succumbed to her injuries.

As a result of investigative actions carried out in the context of the criminal case initiated under part 1 of Article 104 of the Criminal Code of Armenia at the Masis investigative division of the Ararat regional investigative department, several circumstances of the case have been clarified. Notably, the results of the autopsy revealed that the woman was pregnant.

Based on sufficient evidence, charges have been filed against the 26-year-old under point 4 of part 2 of Article 104 of the Criminal Code of Armenia. The investigator has submitted a motion to the court to select detention as a measure of restraint, which has been granted.

The investigation is ongoing. Urgent investigative and other procedural measures are being undertaken to clarify all the circumstances of the case and to ensure an objective, complete, and comprehensive investigation.
