Few Steps Away from Sonography: Naira Zohrabyan on Inspection of Her Car Near the National Assembly
If my service car enters the territory of the National Assembly 10 times a day, it is thoroughly inspected each of those 10 times,
said NA member Naira Zohrabyan in a conversation with NEWS.am, referring to the heightened regime of entry into the National Assembly in recent days.
"If such a security regime applied to all members of parliament, neither we would be addressing this issue, nor would Edmon Marukyan or I," emphasized the member from the Prosperous Armenia Party.
"Entering the National Assembly has turned into an ordeal, it’s just a step away from them conducting sonography. Such a regime does not exist, it is not justified, and I do not know the purpose of the inspection, especially if there is a permit to enter the National Assembly,” she said, adding that security personnel inspect personal shopping bags, the car's interior, the trunk, even the "bag of tricks".
Naira Zohrabyan attempted to clarify the reasons for the strict regime from the Assembly staff, who responded that they are subordinate to the Assembly and are not related to that regime; meanwhile, the National Assembly's security service stated that it is an order issued by the Assembly staff.
