Body of a Woman Discovered in Parked Car's Backseat

The Investigative Committee of Armenia has revealed a murder case involving a 30-year-old woman, following necessary investigative actions conducted by the Masis investigative division in the Ararat region.

According to preliminary information, a call was received by the Masis police department on May 9, 2019, at 00:45, reporting that a young woman, who had allegedly been beaten, was transported to Masis Medical Center, and was possibly deceased.

Immediately, an investigative-operational group was dispatched to the hospital.

Upon inspection of the scene, the body of a female was found on the left rear seat of a 'Mitsubishi Pajero Io' parked in front of the emergency entrance of Masis Medical Center, showing signs of violence.

A criminal case has been opened by the Masis investigative division under Article 104, Part 1 of the Armenian Criminal Code, and the investigation has been assigned to a dedicated group.

Through identification procedures, it was revealed that the victim was a 30-year-old woman who, according to preliminary information, did not have a permanent place of residence.

As a result of the investigative and operational measures taken, various circumstances of the case have been uncovered, including the identity of the person alleged to have committed the crime, who is a resident of Armavir Province, born in 1993. The individual was arrested on suspicion of murder and provided a confession that during the evening of May 8, 2019, he violently assaulted his long-time acquaintance in a field near the village of Aytnap in Ararat Province with a rubber pipe, a wooden stick, and other objects, causing injuries that led to her death, after which he transported her body to Masis Medical Center in his vehicle.

A crime scene investigation was conducted with the participation of the 26-year-old suspect, during which the rubber pipe used in the crime, the broken wooden stick, items believed to belong to the victim, and blood-like traces were discovered.

The clothing worn by both the victim and the suspect has been seized, samples have been collected, and several examinations have been ordered.

The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
