Man in Syunik Publishes Naked Photos of Ex-Partner

The Court of General Jurisdiction of Syunik Province, presided over by Judge N. Ohanyan, has sentenced a 52-year-old Armenian citizen to a fine of 400,000 AMD for collecting and distributing personal information, specifically nude photographs, of his former intimate partner without her consent, reports 'Pastinfo'.

The accused met the woman in 2016, and a short while later, they developed an intimate relationship. Following the end of their relationship, seeking revenge and attempting to force her to rekindle their connection, the man published the nude photographs of the woman on his Facebook page, thereby making her personal and confidential information freely accessible to other internet users. He was charged under Article 144 of the RA Criminal Code, which pertains to the unauthorized dissemination of personal or family secrets.

On January 31, 2017, a travel restriction was imposed on him, and a search warrant was issued. On February 21, 2017, the criminal proceedings were suspended under part 2 of point 1 of Article 31 of the RA Criminal Procedure Code. However, on February 28, 2019, the accused voluntarily surrendered to the authorities, and on March 4, the proceedings were resumed.
