Italian Investor Against Former Police Chief and Current Head of Audit Chamber

The newspaper "Pativ" reports that based on a report of a crime submitted by Italian businessman Danilo Passariello on March 4, 2019, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 214, Part 2 of the RA Criminal Code.

In 2003, businessman Danilo Passariello founded "Pasep International" LLC in Armenia together with Levon Yolyans, the current head of the Audit Chamber; Alik Sargsyan, the former police chief; his brother Armen Sargsyan; the honorary consul of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay in Armenia, Armen Hayrapetyan; and Hovsep Petrosyan. According to Passariello, the real shareholder of the company has been Alik Sargsyan, not his brother Armen Sargsyan.

The businessman believes that his partners have illegally carried out actions for years, withdrawing financial resources in unknown directions, hiding the company's real income, managing company resources for personal purposes, and depriving him of the opportunity to receive dividends from the company's activities.

In order to clarify the positions of all parties, we tried to contact Levon Yolyans by calling the Audit Chamber. In response to our inquiry, they conveyed Mr. Yolyans’ position: "In order not to jeopardize the investigation, Mr. Yolyans currently has no comments regarding the issue.".

We also tried to contact Alik Sargsyan. He said, without hearing the question completely, that he was very busy and asked us to call him back later. However, further calls throughout the day went unanswered.

We managed to get in touch with Danilo Passariello, who confirmed that the information we had was correct. He noted that he has approached lawyer David Hunanyan of AM legal firm and does not wish in any way to provoke the other side. Respecting the confidentiality of the investigation, he declined to answer our other questions, adding that for more detailed information, we could contact his lawyer.

The businessman added that previously he had no hope of achieving any success through law enforcement, considering the position and connections of his partners. However, after the revolution, he believes in the impartiality of law enforcement and is convinced that the illegal actions will be revealed, and the guilty parties will be held accountable.
