New Details on the Operation to 'Lay Out' Businessman Derzhava's Arkadi and His Bodyguards

According to information from SHAMSHYAN.com, on April 30, officers from the Chief Criminal Investigation Department of the Police carried out a special operation in Yerevan on suspicion of illegal possession and carrying of weapons. This operation was reportedly named 'The Gun Hanging on the Wall Will Fire One Day.'

According to G. Shamshyan's information, the police 'laid out' the drivers and passengers of a Toyota with license plate 05 ST 500 and a Mercedes with license plate 05 AT 500 near 29/1 Isakov Avenue in Yerevan.

Those apprehended were identified as 49-year-old Arsen Safaryan, 34-year-old David Arzumanyan, 35-year-old Hakob Gevorgyan from the village of Surenavan in Ararat Province, and 48-year-old Arkadi Hambardzumyan from the city of Spitak.

According to the photojournalist's information, authorities found 1 Makarov and 2 Viking-type pistols among them.

Furthermore, G. Shamshyan reported that one of those detained, A. Hambardzumyan, is a former member of parliament known to the public as 'Derzhava's Arkadi,' and the vehicles belong to him.
