The Director of ‘Spayka’ Remains in Custody
The Court of Appeals of Armenia, presided over by Judge Mher Arjamanian, has just made a decision to reject the appeal filed by the defense against the detention order for Davit Ghazaryan, founder and director of ‘Spayka’, and denied the request for his release on bail. This information was provided to reporters by Arsen Sardaryan, a member of Ghazaryan’s legal team. He noted that they will hold a press conference related to the case after discussing with their client.
Recall that on April 8, the court of general jurisdiction in Yerevan granted the request of the investigative department of the State Revenue Committee and issued a two-month detention order for Davit Ghazaryan.
On April 4, 2019, Davit Ghazaryan was charged under part 2 of Article 205 of the RA Criminal Code (failure to pay significant amounts of taxes, duties, or other mandatory payments).
According to the State Revenue Committee's announcement, ‘Spayka’ company has failed to pay tax and customs duties amounting to 7,036,666,312 AMD, resulting from its business activities.
