Vanetsyan Promises Revolution in National Team
The President of the Football Federation of Armenia, Arthur Vanetsyan, in an interview with Aysor.am, announced the need for a revolution in the national football team.
When asked about the national team, Vanetsyan responded, "We need to develop youth football and have many players. The team should be rejuvenated. We must have the courage to refresh our national team. We need a revolution in the Armenian national team."
Regarding the development of Armenian football, Vanetsyan revealed that 31 small fields will be built in various regions of Armenia this year.
"We have held negotiations with the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, and we are going to create BKMA (Central Sports Club of the Army), which will allow young footballers, upon reaching military age, to be drafted, not to regular service, but to engage in football alongside their service," Vanetsyan stated.
He also addressed the question of combining the role of President of the Football Federation with that of the head of the National Security Service. "I think it’s fine to combine them; it wouldn’t be correct for me to evaluate. I am managing to combine both well. Of course, football is in the spotlight; we have a lot to do and have already started serious reforms in Armenian football," he added.
