Fatal Car Accident in Gegharkunik: Cause is Black Ice

On April 22, another major and tragic car accident occurred in the Gegharkunik region due to black ice on the road. At approximately 23:10, vehicles driven by 56-year-old Alik Yervandyan from Gandzak village (Opel, license plate 35 OQ 074) and 29-year-old Nairi Avetisyan from Akunk village (VAZ 21074, license plate 35 LM 778) collided on the 7th kilometer of the Sevan-Martuni-Getap highway.

According to Shamshyan.com, as a result of the accident, a passenger from the 07 vehicle, 59-year-old Samvel Avetisyan, died on the way to the hospital in Sevan. Those present at the scene reported that two other individuals were also transported to Sevan hospital with bodily injuries.

A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident. The police and investigative department are working to identify the injured.
