When you send me to negotiate, why don't you say: you will go and solve the issue this way. Pashinyan
We need to clearly articulate how we see the resolution of the Karabakh issue, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during a meeting with lecturers and students of the Faculty of Economics and Management at Yerevan State University.
"The strangest thing is that there has been no public discourse on this topic among us. When I had just become Prime Minister, many were giving interviews, one said they sold this and that, another said if they haven't sold it, they will sell it soon, someone wrote that they just sold it and got away with it. No one asks the question why, when I go to negotiations, there is such a conversation behind my back and why this conversation exists at all. Because when all of you send me to negotiate a solution for the Karabakh issue, you don't immediately say: you will go and solve the Karabakh issue like this.
Today, the Armenian people have not instructed the Prime Minister of Armenia to go to negotiations, take the paper, read it, memorize it, and go solve the issue in this way. That is why all the different conversations begin. No one has said how the issue should be resolved.
When we imagine what the Karabakh issue should look like 50-100 years from now. Do we envision that the issue should be resolved with international recognition, or do we imagine that we should still be negotiating? We need to know what strategy we are pursuing so that we can formulate our vision for Armenia 100 years from now," Pashinyan emphasized.
